How can Libertarians prep to win in 2022?

I am currently sitting here listening to a discussion among leading Libertarians on Clubhouse on what the Libertarian Party can do to win in the 2022 election. There are a lot of different opinions that consume most of the Libertarian narrative. Some hold the hardline on the statement of principles and bylaws, while some focus on what the party can do to win elections.

The latter is the most important aspect of advancing Liberty.

Libertarians need a refocus on what they can do to win more elections across this country and propel them into the top tier of political parties in America. Too often, Libertarians are cast aside by average Americans as just a bunch of crazy’s that spout off conspiracy theories when in reality they are some of the most principled individuals. However, most Americans don’t know that fact and that is why they lose elections.

So, what can the LP do to win in 2022? They need to refocus a national strategy that sells Libertarianism to the American people. As the saying goes, most people in America are Libertarian they just don’t know it yet.

The past year proves that Americans are ready for something different. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought to light the control that Democrats and Republicans have over the people they govern and the submission they put constituents and people are crying for help. They are begging for a different governing paradigm.

The Libertarian Party needs to get out and capture the hearts of Americans. They need to make the name Libertarians a household name. They need to build a coalition that can spread across America. The name Libertarian only comes up every four years during a Presidential election. In off years the name disappears from the national narrative and that is the prime time to introduce people to the ideas of Liberty. In mid-terms you have House, Senate, Gubernatorial, and state level races that need Libertarian candidates to make a splash.

So the basic answer is that Libertarians need to run for every race they can and start altering the status quo in America. A national response is the key for 2022.

  1. “Some hold the hardline on the statement of principles and bylaws, while some focus on what the party can do to win elections. The latter is the most important aspect of advancing Liberty.”

The two are not in conflict, but as for importance, if you don’t have the first one the second one is irrelevant.

  2. More people have discovered what statism has done to the country, especially in ‘blue states’. There will be a large contingent of people who voted for what they believed was the ‘lesser of two evils ‘, who are now getting a very rude awakening. (Just look at the union workers who voted for Biden, though those working on oil pipelines should have seen it coming) When you have Naomi Wolf and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. both saying we have reached the fascism stage in relation to COVID -19 actions, you know there is some waking up going on. https://childrenshealthdefense.org/defender/truth-rfk-jr-naomi-wolf-constitutional-rights/
