Steve Cohen Accuses Boebert in Interview
The controversy surrounding Lauren Boebert is heating up after her colleague Representative Steve Cohen appeared on CNN this morning to confirm that the Colorado representative did give a large group a tour of the U.S. Capitol days prior to the Jan. 6th attack.
However, new evidence it coming to light after Steve Cohen confrimed this rumor that the newly elected Congresswoman from Western Colorado was seen giving a tour to a group that might have been involved in the insurrection attempt on the 6th.
Congresswoman Boebert has denied multiple times that she gave a tour of the capitol to any group.
In a press release and a formal letter demanding a correction from Maloney, the Rifle Republican said the “extremely offensive, shameful and dangerous” comments made on national television by the New York congressman “implied” that Boebert was the member of Congress who had been showing people around the day before a mob of Donald Trump supporters stormed the Capitol to stop certification of Joe Biden’s election victory.
“There was not an ounce of truth to anything he claimed about me,” she said. “His allegations are an embarrassment to the House of Representatives and he should correct his false assertions on the record as soon as possible.”
We ran a story the other day of Lauren Boebert being accused of sedition as she tweeted out the location of the Speaker of the House during the attack.
There are reports of accusation that some Republicans lawmakers helped the Capitol insurrectionists during the attack. Boebert’s name has come up multiple times in these converstations.
The hashtag #ResignBoebert started trending today on Twitter as thousands of people are calling for the newly sworn in Congresswoman to resign after she tweeted out the location of Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, during the attack on the Capitol.
Some are suggesting that this was her way of communicating with the rioters outside the Capitol who were in the process of breaching the U.S. Capitol as Congress was meeting to certify Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 Presidential election.
Prior to this she tweeted a photo of herself saying that today was 1776.
Some have suggested that she committed a federal crime for letting people know that the highest ranking member of Congress, and second in line to the Presidency, was now out of the House Chamber and in another location.
Here Congressional office release the following statementlas week.
We should take Democrats at their word when they say never let a crisis go to waste. Their hypocrisy is on full display with talks of impeachment, censure, and other ways to punish Republicans for false accusations of inciting the type of violence they have so frequently and transparently supported in the past,” said Congresswomen Lauren Boebert.
“And, once again, their false attacks go unchallenged. They accuse me of live-tweeting the Speaker’s presence after she had been safely removed from the Capitol, as if I was revealing some big secret, when in fact this removal was also being broadcast on TV. They act as if Republicans created objections to the Electoral College certification out of thin air, when it was Democrats who objected in 2001, 2005 and 2017.
They act as though a reference to the founding of our country and the bravery of upholding our Constitutional oath is criminal, which says a whole lot more about them than it does about me or any other Republican. The reality is that Joe Biden didn’t condemn Antifa when he had a chance to, Kamala Harris spent much of the summer helping those arrested for violent behavior post bail and get back on the streets as quickly as possible, and Speaker Pelosi encouraged uprisings all over the country. I denounced the violence over the summer just as I did the recent events at the Capitol. I defended our Constitution and I always will.
America will persevere because freedom always prevails. But let’s get real—the far-left and their policies are causing harm to our country. I refuse to let their political machine write a narrative that millions of Americans know is false.”
