The Coronavirus and the Death of the U.S. Constitution

Before I begin let me preface that yes the coronavirus (COVID-19) is a dangerous virus that has caused the death of too many Americans and we need to be doing everything we can to mitigate its spread and save the lives of Americans. It is tragic everyday to sit and watch the news and see the numbers and hear the stories, but our country is resilient and will overcome this microscopic threat to our security.

Now, there is a problem with this whole pandemic that transcends what the media talks about and that is the assault that has taken place on the United States Constitution. Never before have the American people laid down as the government has taken over our lives in the name of health safety. The unconstitutional actions that have been taken by state Governors and the President have gone unnoticed as the media focuses on the death count.

Former Congressman Ron Paul has echoed this same sentiment. Paul has called for the firing of Dr. Anthony Fauci, a member of the White House coronavirus task force, and has labeled him a “fraud.”

“He should be fired, but if you don’t do it in the literal sense, the people have to fire him,” the Texas Republican said on his show. “They have to fire him by saying, ‘He’s a fraud.’”

“The plan that they have is when things are getting back to normal, yes, people can return to their work, and they do things and go to the golf course if they get a stamp of approval,” Paul added. “Your liberties are there if you get a proper stamp from the government.”

We are literally at the mercy of the government and have completely turned a blind eye to the power they have grabbed from us and ripped up our liberties in the process. Our wealth is being stripped of us, our livelihood, and for what purpose?

Yes, I understand that we have to do everything we can to save lives and to kick this virus in the butt, but this is one area that I finally agree with Trump on, we need to get this economy opened back up before we see a generational collapse of wealth and prosperity.
