The most staunch defender of President Trump during the initial impeachment inquiry in the House of Representatives has changed his tone a little bit as the impeachment process has made it to the Senate for trial.
From Business Insider:
After the first day of opening arguments on Wednesday, during which seven House impeachment managers — acting as prosecutors — laid out their case against the president, Gaetz told Politico they presented their case to the public as if it were “cable news,” and he praised their use of multimedia.
Meanwhile, the defense team’s case looked like “an eighth-grade book report,” Gaetz told Politico. “Actually, no, I take that back,” he said, adding that an eighth-grader would know how to use PowerPoint and iPads.
This is telling for the staunch defenders of the President who attacked the process and investigations into the Ukrainian issue. Gaetz viciously attacked witnesses and Democrats in the Judiciary Committee hearings and opposed the articles of impeachment with verosoty .
It turns out Trump and the Republicans case boils down to no real defense of his actions but rather like a little boy crying wolf who can’t even work a computer in the 21st Century.
