U.S. National Debt Tops $23 Trillion; Unsustainable At This Level

In the wake of the Trump Impeachment hearings the U.S. National Debt has topped $23 Trillion.

Politicians in Washington seem to have no care in the world for the financial state of this country. We have a President who promised to drain the swamp and pay down the debt and in his time as President it has risen over $3 Trillion.

The two major parties talk a lot of game in regards to fiscal responsibility but the moment they get into power the exact opposite happens.

Even the Chairman of the Federal Reserve agrees that the debt is out of control.

“Ultimately in the long run that’s not a sustainable place to be,” he said. Powell continued:

“How to fix that — it’s easy to say that — how do you do that and when do you do that is an issue that is up to you and not to us.”

There has to be a moment, or someone in Washington that will actually pay attention to these warnings, but that doesn’t appear to be happening anytime soon.

  1. I am trying to understand how the Mises Caucus proposes to deal with the national debt. I have heard conflicting claims, including the utter fallacy that it will just go away. Please clarify.
