Justin Amash Quits the Republican Party

The rumors and hype around Justin Amash running for President as a Libertarian have been months in the making.

The first step in that process has just happened on the Fourth of July 2019. Congressman Amash has quit the Republican Party.

From CNN:

CNN)  Rep. Justin Amash, the only congressional Republican who publicly argues that President Donald Trump has engaged in impeachable conduct, announced Thursday he is quitting the GOP.

“Today, I am declaring my independence and leaving the Republican Party,” Amash wrote in a Washington Post op-ed Thursday morning. “No matter your circumstance, I’m asking you to join me in rejecting the partisan loyalties and rhetoric that divide and dehumanize us. I’m asking you to believe that we can do better than this two-party system — and to work toward it. If we continue to take America for granted, we will lose it.”

We have been big proponents of Amash running for President as a Libertarian and are excited to see what comes of this!

  1. Justin Amash needs to leave. I’m an Conservative Independent and I believe Amash is a disaster waiting to happen. I like Libertarian values, but Amash is not a good candidate. In my opinion, he’s a Democrat in Republican clothing looking for a hind tit to suckle onto.

    • You have no idea what a libertarian is since you’re a neoliberal. Amash also is not a libertarian, but he’s no democrat. Your thinking he is proves his point about Joe Public thinking everything is Democrat or Republican, liberal or conservative. Both are the same exact thing.

    • Aside from being pro-life, pro-2A, pro-1A, and favoring reducing the size of government… Yeah, totally a D.

    • Yeah, well… he just did, because the Republican party has no respect whatever for Libertarian values.

    • Have you ever checked out Amash’s voting record? Certainly, the Democrats would not want to include him in their party as well. The very reason he is unwanted by either party is precisely because he DOESN’T seek to put himself or America on the teet of a bloated Federal Government. Whether it be Welfare or Warfare over spending. You sir are ignorant.

  2. Americans are so enslaved, brainwashed, depraved, divided, distracted, degraded, and demoralized now that they scream American pilots who bomb wedding parties should be pardoned, but patriots who post videos of US soldiers murdering civilians should be executed.

  3. I think he’s a trillion percent wrong impeachment, and I’ve been a Libertarian for over 35 years. I’m not in favor of Trump. Also, I’m tired of people running all their political lives as Republican and then when they’re going to lose their upcoming primary, they run to us. I was planning to attend the National Convention, but if he runs for our nomination, I’ll make it my mission to make sure I go to vote against him.
