Why Sam Goldstein for LNC Vice-Chair?

I joined the LP in 1998 after having voted Libertarian since 1976. Within a year I had run for Indianapolis City-County Council and was Vice-Chair of my county party.

I have since served as County Chair (we ran 47 local candidates during my term), LPIN Membership Director, Vice-Chair and two terms as LPIN Chair (we ran over 200 candidates during my tenure).

I’ve run for partisan, public office 7 times, ranging from local to State Representative to statewide for Supt. of Public Instruction. I’ve also managed two statewide campaigns, Governor in 2000 and Secretary of State (LPIN Ballot access race) in 2002 which allowed us to retain ballot access for 4 years. I’ve advised several additional statewide campaigns since then.

I’ve served three terms on the LNC, Region 3 Alternate and Representative and my current term elected At Large by the delegates to the 2014 Convention. I’ve also served several times on the By-Laws and Platform Committees.

I’m running for LNC Vice-Chair to allow me to bring this wealth of experience to helping local and state LP parties where ever they need it. The leadership training sessions that we initiated this term need to be expanded in frequency and location. The new web site needs to have an array of resources to aid party leaders at every level. We need the infrastructure to take advantage of what is shaping up to be a record year for the Libertarian Party.

Please let me know if you have any questions. is the best way to reach me. I also am looking forward to meeting you at my Campaign Management workshops on Thursday before the start of the Convention.

Finally, remember the LPIN Hospitality Suite on Friday night following the Chair’s Debate (location to be announced).

Thanks for your consideration and

Live Free,

Sam Goldstein

Since joining the Libertarian Party in 2016 (after discovering Gary Johnson as a disaffected Bernie Sanders supporter), Luke Henderson has been active in the liberty movement through journalism, and political activism. At the beginning of 2017, Luke had his first piece of writing published by Being Libertarian and quickly became a contributor to the libertarian news site, The Libertarian Vindicator. Through the Vindicator, Luke discovered his passion for addressing critics of the philosophy and bringing together different factions of liberty lovers which compelled him to become an editor for The Libertarian Coalition, a forum dedicated to an open-minded discussion of libertarian ideas from all walks. After many guest contributions to Being Libertarian, Luke was asked to join the website as a contributor, where he writes his column Scoring For Liberty, which discusses sports, politics, and economics from a libertarian lens, and his Educator series that seeks to strengthen libertarian’s understanding of educational techniques and policy to better arguments against public education. Luke is one of the District 1 Executive Committeemen for the Missouri Libertarian party, and the founder of the Missouri Chapter of the Libertarian Positivity Caucus. Outside of politics, Luke is a paraprofessional for the Special School District of St. Louis, a musician, composer, and a loving husband and father.
