“I’m anti-establishment, I’m anti-partisan on the sheriff’s race” explained new Libertarian party member and candidate for Randolph County sheriff, Eric Hicks, on his switch from the Republican party.
Placing the needs of citizens over party, Hicks believes that “when someone calls 911, they don’t care if you are Republican, Libertarian, Democratic, unaffiliated. You just want someone to enforce the law.”
The new Libertarian’s platform consists of getting the politics out of law enforcement and to move towards a “PROACTIVE APPROACH to combating the criminal element.” Using technology to create a more efficient police force that can better serve the citizens of Randolph county.
